Payment
UK Customers

Lay-away/payment plans
I would like my bears to be affordable for all my collectors, so I am always happy to help by offering interest free payment plans, of up to six consecutive monthly instalments.
My payment plans are really simple and work as follows:
- I will send you an invoice for the full amount, stating the amount owed each month.
- Instalments are then due on the same date each month. A reminder will be sent each month until full payment has been received.
- Your bear will be posted to you on receipt of final payment.
If you can pay the full amount owed early, you are more than welcome to do so, and you will get your bear sooner.
Please note that failure to meet your instalments will result in the right to remove the layaway facility. If you have any problems meeting your instalments, please contact me as soon as possible.

Commissions
I am happy to accept commissions. To discuss your special creation, please email me at kat@brierleybears.co.uk.
Bears: payment in full is required up front – which includes a non-refundable deposit of 25% to cover the cost of materials and time designing your creation.
Stained Glass: Full payment required up front.
Please allow up to 1 month for your item to be completed as I am only able to work on my creations in the evenings. However, I will keep you informed of your creations progress.

Gift Certificates
Brierley Bears gift certificates can be redeemed at www.brierleybears.co.uk by entering your voucher number in the coupon code box at the checkout. Certificates can also be used in person at any event. Or by providing your voucher number if ordering by email or by private message on social media such as Facebook.
Gift certificates are valid for 12 months only, the expiry date can be found on the front of each certificate.
Each certificate number is unique and can only be used once. They are non-refundable, non-transferable, non-reloadable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
Brierley Bears will not refund, replace and will not be liable for any lost or stolen gift certificates.
Postage
All parcels will be fully insured and will require a signature on delivery, and I will provide you with the parcels tracking number so you can keep an eye on your parcels progress
– UK postage is included and all bears will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery
– Overseas orders will be sent by courier via Transglobal Express for better tracking of your parcel. All orders will include a commercial invoice, correct HS codes and proper declarations.
If you wish to buy more than one item from me, I will try my best to combine the postage.
As of 29th August 2025 the de Minimis exemption in the USA was cancelled, which means that anything shipped to the United States now incurs custom duties, this is something completely out of my control.
Important shipping information for all countries:
From 30th August 2025 all duties will be included in your postage price, which should be just the new UK standard of 10%.
However, just so that you are aware, HS code 95030041, the code I use for stuffed teddy bears does suggest it carries a 4% duty, but as of 01.09.25 this currently doesn’t show when I run a dummy quote through Transglobal Express.
I have added a button to each bears adoption page with a pre-configured email for you to complete so that I can get you an accurate postage price including duties.
Hopefully this will mean that your parcel clears customs and gets to you without any hiccups.
Cancellations/Returns
In accordance with The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2015, you are entitled to cancel your order within 14 calendar days of receiving the item. Bespoke commissioned items excepted.
Any items that are to be returned must be sent by insured post and there must be a signature required from me.
Refunds will be paid within 14 days of me receiving your item in its original, undamaged condition.
Please note that you are responsible for returning the item to us and for paying for its return. Return postage must be fully insured, and deductions will also be made for any customs charges on the items return.
If the item reaches you in a damaged state, please keep all the packaging and contact me straight away with photos so I can make a claim through our postal service or courier.
Please note that these terms and conditions are governed by English law and any disputes or claims are subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
