I appear to have neglected my blog again, I’m not very good am I?
Anyway, it’s been very busy here, and not just in bear making terms.
Firstly, we’re in the middle of a loft conversion. I may have mentioned this before, as my studio keeps shrinking.
In fact, my husband cleared a lot of his tools from the back corner, which was brilliant, I had room again. The extra space didn’t last long though because I wanted a bath in the new en-suite. We managed to find one on sale, so now I have a bath propped up against the wall in that very same corner. Oh well, I’m not going to let it stop me making new creations 🙂
So here it is, my new loft space:
It started like this, we had no roof for a while, and my was it cold that day. My studio is directly below this room, it’s an amazing view isn’t it?
This is a little dark, but we now have windows in. Just to give you an idea of the size (the small window is where the en-suite and wardrobe will be).
And here it is from the outside. Our roofers and joiners did a grand job.
I told you that I’d been busy making too, didn’t I?
Well, I finally have my space bear commission finished.
He is for my friends nephew. I was told that he was really interested in space, two planets in particular; Saturn & Jupiter.
So, I tried to get a fur in colours that suited both planets, and I also needle felted Jupiter’s spot on Telesto’s tummy.
Here he is from start to finish…

New pattern drawn up and cut out
Pattern drawn on fabric and cutting out
Only feet left to sew
Sewing a foot
His head is freshly stuffed
He has a face, yay! But his eyes and antennae are only placement markers at the moment.
He is all ready for jointing now
Almost there
Making fimo accessories, but which planet do I choose for his pendant (the white bits are glow in the dark too)
Here is a close up of his beautiful green eyes
And without further ado, here he is…
Meet Telesto
(by the way, if you were wondering why he has no ears, he actually hears through his antennae. He is from space, you know 😉 )
He’s going to be travelling all the way to Australia to live with his new dad.
Let’s wish him a safe journey 🙂
