Ælfweard’s name comes from the Anglo-Saxon ‘Ælf’ which means elf & ‘weard’ which means guardian.
So he is an elf guardian, he takes his name quite seriously too and on those lovely misty mornings he likes to sit by his favourite Oak tree and keep watch over the elves dancing in the meadow.
Oh yes, and if you happen to have any spellbooks or recipe books in the house, be sure to keep them out of paws reach. Being an elf guardian, he’s a master of protection spells, but he’s not so great at other spells or following recipes, so under supervision only please. You don’t want him making your tea taste like coffee or somehow turning his ears purple.
Ælfweard is also proud to be a winner in the URSA Awards 2017.

Ælfweard is a one of a kind bear made from snow white faux fur.
He is 12" tall, has hand-painted blue glass eyes and a large black needle felted nose.
Ælfweard is fully jointed, with a cotter pin wobble neck joint and nuts and bolts in his arms and legs. He is filled with heavy polyester fibre and has some steel shot in his tummy.
He has white felt paws with blue needle felted paws and he has been carefully hand shaded.
Ælfweard is also wearing a handmade wire wrapped blue lace agate crystal pendant.

Brierley Bears are designed with the adult collector in mind, and due to the small parts used in creating them they are not suitable for children under the age of 14.
All bears come with a sewn in tag and their own personalised hang tag and information booklet, signed for authenticity.
I will post worldwide, and all items will be sent by insured post.
Overseas postage prices are estimated, and if the actual cost of postage is less than quoted on here, I will refund the difference.
