The bears and I exhibited at The Great Yorkshire Teddy Bear Event (TGYTBE) on Sunday, 19th November.
The show was, as usual, a great day out. There were so many fantastic stalls selling beautiful handmade artist bears.
It was a shame to miss the gala dinner and awards evening the night before the show, maybe next time I’ll make it to the dinner.
Anyway, here is a little snapshot of my stall. I couldn’t stand far enough back to take a photo, so I had to take a video.

Olwen was lucky enough to find her forever home on the day. I did resist the urge to do a happy dance, but it really did make my day when her new mum decided to adopt her!
I came home with some gorgeous new mohair from Bear Basics for one of my current commissions.
On the day of the show there is a fabulous charity raffle.
I like to call it an artist bear raffle as it is mainly artist bears that are the prizes, but there’s usually a couple of other things such as paintings and bear making kits. All kindly donated by stallholders at the event.
This year I donated Maia and she helped to raise over £1400.
The raffle always supports Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
This year some of the raffle money has also been donated to a cancer charity, as one of the usual exhibiting artists sadly passed away not long before the event. I thought this was a lovely gesture and wish her family well.
If you haven’t been to this event before, I would highly recommend it. It’s the best bear show in the North of England!
