My first ever Unicorn is finished! 🙂
Her pattern looked about right, but I was worried for a time that she was just going to go horribly wrong. I guess that’s the chance that you take when you bravely make the finished item straight away, instead of making a mock up.
Here is a quick reminder of her in the making:
She is made from white faux fur, with a pink faux fur mane and tail. Her hooves are felt and she is filled with heavy weight polyester fibre.
Her eyes are black glass, her nostrils are needle-felted she has been hand shaded.
Her mouth is embroidered and carefully scissor sculpted, giving her a lovely smile.
The final touch was her horn, sculpted from fimo clay. Here it is, freshly baked:
But without further ado, I would like to introduce you to Liliana. Her name was chosen by her (soon to be) new mum, and it suits her beautifully.
She will be picked up sometime this weekend, and it shouldn’t be too long before she reaches her new mum in Australia.
Now, obviously Liliana’s new mum has seen her photo’s as she has named her, but I can’t wait to see what she thinks when she meets Liliana ‘in the fur’.
